Hygge Play Studio
Hygge (pronounced hue-gah) is a Danish word used when acknowledging a feeling or moment, ordinary or extraordinary, as cozy, charming, and memorable.
Hygge Play Studio is designed for our youngest citizens to explore, discover, delight, and be cherished while their caregiver takes a moment of self-care. Being a parent is the most demanding and most rewarding job. It is too difficult and too important to do alone. This is why Mesabi Fit created Hygge Play Studio! We need community. We need to remember joy. Children will delight in a Hygge (cozy) world designed for them while their loved ones recharge.
The Hygge Play Studio is available as a drop-in child watch service with reservations made by an adult member of Mesabi Fit. If a child is being cared for by a nanny, grandparent, or another adult, the legal guardian must agree to the terms of Hygge Play Studio before the child can attend.
Child watch services cost $3 per visit. Visits are limited to an hour and a half. Please sign up on line to ensure a space.
Hours for Play Studio Drop-in Child Watch
Monday and Wednesday: 3:00 pm-4:30 pm and 4:30 pm- 6:00 pm
Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 am-10:30 am and 10:30 am-12:00 pm
The Hygge Play Studio services children ages three months to 11 years. They are supervised in mixed-aged groups and may socialize with children of various ages and levels of development.
A whimsical play yard is designed especially for your non-crawling infants.
One educator trained in early childhood education and a Master's in Education leads the program. All staff members are certified in First Aid and CPR. At times, volunteers will assist with daily activities. Volunteers are required to undergo a background study.
Families must remain in the building while their child(ren) are in our care.

Hygge Play Studio is available for members and non-members to use when child watch is not in session. This is time when you and your child/ren can explore and discover together.
Parents/Caregivers must be with their child(ren) during the play studio hours.

Play Studio Sessions cost $5 per person (adults, children, and infants). Play Studio is included in our family memberships. (all other memberships are required to pay to use the play studio).
No shoes in the play studio. Cozy socks or dry slippers are welcome.
Snacks and beverages are not allowed in the play studio. Enjoy them in our lobby.
Turn off windtunnel and light box if used. Clean up materials.
